I texted my mom and sister if they thought this would be a fun game to add to our Christmas Eve gathering and the answer was “Yes!” My sister and I decided to make two balls since there were so many of us. We would each shop, and then pool the items together and make the balls when we arrived at our parents' house.

My sis sent me this pick after her shopping trip. Wow! was my first thought. She'd gone to Cost Plus World Market and found some fun items! She also had two Amazon gift cards for the grand prize. I added more gift cards and non-food items like bandanas and bell necklaces from the Dollar Tree. Those bells had been recommended in the video so the ball would jingle and that added some Christmassy fun. They did!

The hardest thing, having not done this before, was knowing what type of goodies would fit in the ball. We weren't sure so bought smaller and/or flatter items. Wwf raw pc game cheats. My sister decided to buy Glad Press ‘n Seal to use instead of Saran-Wrap. I have no idea how using Saran-Wrap would be different, but the Press ‘n Seal made putting the ball together very easy, and also makes it harder to unroll during the game. Highly recommend! As for the rolls of wrap you need, I used two and a half boxes for my ball.

The game is easy to play. Some use a watch and give each player a set amount of time. Other's let each person remove one layer and then pass it to the next person. We used two dice. A player unwraps layers from the ball and gets whatever goodies they come across while the next person rolls the dice. When doubles are rolled, the ball is passed to who was rolling the dice and the person next to them begins trying to roll doubles. We also had a no-ripping rule. If you ripped the wrap, you lost your turn.

Here are some lessons learned from our Christmas Eve balls:

• Make sure the sticky side of the Press ‘n Seal wrap goes against the inside of the ball. It's easy to get mixed up.
• Have scissors handy. This makes cutting the plastic wrap faster and easier.
• Initially, the ball might resemble a brick. Be sure to put items all over as you wrap, not just alternating side so it becomes more round.
• Having the roll of wrap on a table or bed and rolling the game ball makes things go much faster.
• Alternate directions of the wrap to make it harder to unroll.
• Press down and smooth the wrap as you go.
• Make sure you mix-up prizes as you roll the ball. We had dollar bills and gift cards so made sure to put candy and other items in between and throughout the ball. We had a five dollar bill in each that was closer to the outer edge. Everyone got excited when they could see it through the layers.
• Give each person a small bag or baggie to put their winnings in. We didn't do this, but we will in the future.

The game itself is loud, fast, and fun. Lots of laughter, yelling, and a few screams.

Everyone had fun and asked if we could do it again on Easter! I have a feeling we have a new family tradition to add to holiday gatherings and not just at Christmastime.
